Hello, Charlotte

Welcome to CLTBests!  We are Haley and Carly Best: sisters, friends, working moms, 30-somethings and Charlotte natives (i.e. unicorns)

First thing’s first:  Yes, our (maiden) name is really Best.  It’s on our birth certificates, we promise.

We were both born in Charlotte and lived here until we left for college.  After college we both moved around a bit.  Collectively, we’ve lived in Charleston, Atlanta, D.C., Rhode Island, Raleigh, Amelia Island and Boone.  All of those places hold special places in our hearts as the places we learned, grew, got married and had our babies…  but our hearts (and our family and friends) have been here, in Charlotte, and we knew we had to get back.  Carly moved from Florida to Davidson in 2015 and Haley followed as soon as she could in 2016, moving to South End.  We are thrilled to be back and we are learning that Charlotte has changed, y’all.

So, why the blog?

We haven’t lived less than 2 1/2 hours from each other in over 15 years, so we are relishing in re-discovering Charlotte together.  Don’t get me wrong, we complain about the traffic that comes between us on  I-77, but have to remind ourselves that a few short years ago, we lived a plane ride away from each other.  We started this blog and our Instagram account (@cltbests) to document our new lives here in Charlotte and all the (new to us) stuff the Queen City has to offer!

We hope you will enjoy our photos and our insight on Charlotte events, style, food, beer and lifestyle.  If there is anything you’d like to see more of (or less of) we’d love the feedback!
